With increased waiting times for access to IV iron and an increased need to address those living with symptomatic iron-deficiency anemia, we are pleased to offer private mobile at-home IV iron in Ottawa under medical supervision, administered by RNs with all monitoring and emergency equipment available.
Required to assess medical history and recent bloodwork within the past 3 months. This initial evaluation is not covered by private health insurance. Bloodwork needed within past 3 months include:
CBC, ferritin, serum iron, TIBC, TSAT +/ - CRP if inflammatory illness is suspected. If you do not have recent bloodwork, we can provide a requisition to you. You will also receive a requisition if needed for 12 weeks after your final infusion to assess if iron stores have been repleted. (included in assessment fee).
Iron (Venofer) will be used based on bloodwork and medical history up to 1000mg in a two-week period.
$300 for 200mg (double dose) of Iron as prescribed by our NP.
Up to 5 treatments may be required to replenish iron levels based on treatment plan.
Private iron infusions are not covered through OHIP. Part of the cost of the medication MAY be covered through private insurance. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for coverage prior to booking your consultation. For reference the DIN for Venofer is: 02243716. Detailed receipts are given after your infusions, however we do not offer direct billing at this time or the guarantee of coverage through your insurance provider.
